The Fintech South Awards: Recognizing the Best of Fintech in Georgia
Startups are an important part of the Fintech South community. Innovation Challenge is an annual program that recognizes innovative U.S. fintech startups with ties to Georgia. Eligibility for the program, which includes both cash and in-kind awards for the winning company, is limited to founders of early-stage companies who have raised less than $1 million in funding and are based in (or committed to relocating to) Georgia. Read more about Innovation Challenge here, including past winners, program details and eligibility requirements.
During the month prior to Fintech South 2022, the founders of our 2022 cohort companies engaged in a full month of curated education programs and mentoring that have become a hallmark of this world-class startup engagement program presented by the Technology Association of Georgia, the producers of Fintech South.
Our cohort of companies participated in a special showcase event where the founders made their pitch and received candid feedback from an all-star group of fintech VCs. Then, at Fintech South 2022, our top 3 finalists competed on the Mainstage for a $25,000 cash prize!
The TAG Fintech ADVANCE award program recognizes innovative U.S. fintech companies with ties to Georgia. The award is designed for growth-stage to larger, more established firms. At Fintech South, we are proud to host the 2022 ADVANCE award-winning companies for a special showcase. Click here for more information on ADVANCE Awards.
Congratulations to the 2022 Finalists: Agora, Bitcoin Depot, BitPay, CapWay, FirstView Financial, Layr, Parkmobile, Paya, Payrix, Relay Payments, Steady, TrustStamp, and Vesta.
Starting in 2010 with retired Synovus Financial Corporation Chairman and CEO Jimmy Blanchard, the Technology Association of Georgia’s Fintech Society has honored industry leaders who paved the way for Atlanta to be the global fintech hub it is today. Each year’s honoree becomes a new inductee in the Georgia Fintech Hall of Fame. This is one of highest honors in Georgia’s thriving financial technology community and we’re proud to continue this tradition at Fintech South 2022.
In 2022, we celebrated Kabbage founders Kathryn Petralia and Rob Frohwein.
